In this gouache + screenprint series, I am exploring locating my houseplants in zoomed-in interior scenes, and thinking about how the things we carry in pockets and purses and backpacks (and then dump out onto the counter) reveal what’s important to us. This panel features a bright pothos plant in a shiny silver pot set against a coral red screenprinted wallpaper background, surrounded by a tube of chapstick and a little loose change.

Acrylic gouache and printing ink on a 5x7” cradled birch panel, sealed with matte varnish. Panels are 7/8” deep and are easy to hang or stand on their own. 1” disco ball for scale!
